Blue recycling bag

Find out how to use your blue recycling bag, what we collect and when we collect your bag.

We collect your recycling every week. Find out when your next collection day is using our collection day finder.

Using your blue recycling bag

WarningIf you live in a flat, you may have communal recycling bins instead of a blue recycling bag.

To help us collect your blue recycling bag, please take note of the following guidelines:

  • remove all plastic, sticky tape and polystyrene before putting out for recycling
  • cardboard should be flattened and cut so that it’s no bigger than 45cm square
  • keep cardboard and brown paper separate from mixed paper (we recycle this separately).

What goes in your blue recycling bag

Blue recycling bags are for cardboard, cardboard cartons (food and drink containers) and brown paper. For a complete list of items we collect, please see our recycling A-Z page.

Moving home

If you move, you must leave your blue recycling bag at your old home.
