North Parade Bridge temporary closure

North Parade Bridge is currently closed to vehicles and cyclists for essential repair works. This will affect access to North Parade and Terrace Walk. Coach drop off and pick up remains unavailable during these works.

If you are a coach operator planning a journey into Bath city centre, this may affect your route. Please plan ahead or consider an alternative coach drop off and pick up location.

We estimate that the work will be completed by 12 July 2024

Recycling centre updates

From 4 March 2024, anyone visiting a recycling centre to dispose of bags of general waste may be required to sort the bag on site to ensure all recyclable materials are removed and placed in the correct containers.

From 4 March 2024 there will be new limits on the amount of building materials (soil, rubble, ceramics, and plasterboard) that you can bring to our recycling centres. You can bring two 50-litre bags, or one bulky item (e.g. bathtub / basin / toilet), each time you visit, with maximum of four visits in a 4 week period.

Public engagement

We are preparing plans for a new waste and recycling centre for residents in Bath to replace the Midland Road site which is being redeveloped for housing.

You can visit the public engagement website to view and comment on the emerging plans.

Replacement wheeled black bins

From Monday 1 April 2024, you will need to pay £22.40 for a replacement wheelie bin for your rubbish if it is lost or stolen.

Please note that the charge for replacement wheeled black bins was agreed in our budget for 2022 to 2023 to help offset the purchase and delivery costs associated with providing a replacement stolen bin.
