Combe Down to University of Bath: Copseland

Detailed plans: for bus users

Bus stop improvements

We are proposing a number of changes to the bus stop at the top of Bathwick Hill, at junctions with North Road and Copseland. These proposals aim to make the bus stop easier to access and use, and will also affect the route taken by passing cyclists and pedestrians.

In North Road we propose a new pedestrian refuge island at its junction with Bathwick Hill to make it much easier for people to cross, if they are walking to or past the bus stop. The pavement would be modified to provide a short section of shared use cycle path to enable cyclists to get from North Road into The Avenue or Soldier Down Lane, without going into the road.
We also propose to improve the bus stop area so that people can get on and off buses without having to step onto the grass.

Our improvements for pedestrians at this junction will also aim to reduce the speed that cars are driving and to make it easier to cross the road to get to the bus stop.
