We can investigate:
- Pollution from traffic
- Pollution from domestic properties
Bonfires, chimney smoke, smoky vehicles and industrial processes
If you are affected by air pollution from bonfires or smoking chimneys, please report it using our dedicated online form
If you want to report smoke from vehicles such as lorries, buses or coaches, you can report this online to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA)
If the pollution is from an industrial process, please check to see if the organisation responsible for the process has an Environmental Permit
Before you report it
It’s always a good idea to try and resolve problems informally. Try and talk to the person responsible for the air pollution, they may not be aware that they are causing a problem.
If this doesn't resolve the problem or you can't talk to the person responsible, you can report it to us.
Before you report air pollution you will need the following information:
- Your name, address, telephone number and email address
- The address or details of the location your enquiry relates to
- The nature of your air quality enquiry
We will not investigate anonymous complaints.
