Procurement and Commissioning Strategy: public consultation

Existing suppliers: what this Strategy means for you

The Procurement and Commissioning Strategy will ensure that we procure public goods and services in a way that supports our two core policies as a council; addressing the Climate Emergency and giving people a bigger say.

Our policy objectives

Taking part in this consultation will give you an understanding of how we plan to build sustainability into our procurement practices, aiming to become net zero by 2030. You will have an opportunity to comment on our policy aims as a council. The Strategy sets out our expectations of the market, as we move away from cost-focused procurement, and towards procurement of goods and services that provide transparent supply chains and added social value to our area.

Your engagement with us

The consultation is an opportunity to engage with our draft Strategy, and raise any queries or concerns you may have about what it means or how we will follow it. It gives us a chance to understand how you will respond to our policy targets, like addressing the Climate Emergency, eliminating modern slavery, and implementing Social Value.
