What we are consulting on
We are consulting on the content of the draft Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). We want your opinions on the procedures for securing planning obligations, the scope of the SPD, and the content of the SPD.
We are also consulting on the Draft Sustainable Construction Checklist SPD, which is also currently under consultation. The two SPDs are closely related, and we encourage anyone responding to this consultation to explore both.
Who we are consulting and why
We are consulting everyone who has an interest in the preparation of the Planning Obligations SPD.
We anticipate that developers, landowners and planning professionals will have a specific interest in the changes to the Planning Obligations SPD.
How to respond to the consultation
To take part and give your views on our proposals, complete our online questionnaire. This should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes of your time.

What happens next
When the consultation closes, we will review and analyse all the responses. We will consider your responses as we produce a final draft of the Planning Obligations SPD.
The council cabinet member responsible for Planning will then make the final decision to approve the SPD and when it will come into force.
