  4. Application to the Department for Transport

    Completed May 2022

We applied to the Department for Transport (DfT) to adopt these powers by the deadline of 20 May 2022.

  5. Powers received

On targetMid to late July 2022

If approved by the Department for Transport (DfT), we anticipate that we will be able to use these powers from mid to late July 2022. We can then begin work to finalise the installation of equipment required to begin enforcement action.

We will then monitor and evaluate whether enforcement measures at the sites are fair and proportionate, and assess whether engineering or signage improvements are required at these sites.
