National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP)

NCMP is a national programme where children in Reception Year (4-5 year olds) and Year 6 (10-11 year olds) are weighed and measured and the results are used to monitor levels of unhealthy weight in the population. The programme has been running since 2006/07 and the data is collected once a year, except during the pandemic when it was not possible to collect all the measurements due to school closures.
