Paying for parking

WarningPlease note, payment can be made using MiPermit, by using correct change, or with debit or credit cards at selected car parks.

By smartphone app

Download MiPermit for Android  or download MiPermit for iOS to your phone. You might want to do this before you arrive, to ensure you have a good network connection. You will need to create an account and register your vehicle before you can make your first payment.  

On our website

You can also register, pay for parking or permits and manage your account online.

By phone

New customers

Send a text message (SMS) to 61600 with the word PARK and your vehicle registration number, for example, PARK GY19GGK.

Text messages are charged at your network provider's rate, and may vary.

Our automated system will call you back and ask for the following information.

  • Car park location number, for example 702233. You can find this on signage and payment machines in the car park
  • Your payment card details
  • Whether you want to receive an SMS reminder, 20 minutes before the end of your stay

If you have already registered

Send an SMS to 61600 with the word PARK and the location number and duration that you want to park, in minutes, hours or days, as in the following examples.

30 minutes: PARK 702233 30mins
3 hours: PARK 702233 3hrs
48 hours: PARK 702233 2days

If you want to add a new vehicle, or have more than one vehicle on your account already, you can indicate which vehicle to use, by adding the registration number to the end of the text message.

For example, PARK 702233 30mins GY19GGK

Please note that once you have more than one vehicle on your account, you will need to add the correct registration number to all messages. If you do not, the system will automatically use the vehicle registration number you added to your account most recently.

Extending your stay

To extend your stay, send a message to 61600 with the word EXTEND and the duration to extend by, for example: EXTEND 30mins.

You will not be able to extend your stay past the maximum time limit or the opening hours of the car park your vehicle is in.

You can also call MiPermit directly on 0333 123 8008 and they will be able to assist you. Please note that call times may vary depending on demand
