Apply to shade a street light

If you feel that light from a street light is shining into your property, you can apply to shade a street light. Use this page to do this.

Modern street lights are designed to distribute light onto footways and roadways, not into properties. We may be able to provide limited shading to reduce the light from the street light.

Before you start

Before you complete the application, please have the following items and information ready:

• The street light column number
• A description of how this streetlight is affecting the property and what part of the property the street light is affecting (for example, the top windows of your property)

You can find the column number for the relevant street light about 5ft up the column.

Fees

Fees will vary depending on the request. We will contact you to discuss payment if your request is approved.
