Increasing renewable energy generation

Online

B&NES Council

Join us for a discussion about the vital role of renewable energy in cutting carbon emissions to meet the area’s zero carbon 2030 target.

We require a combination of clean energy generation in homes and buildings for use on site which reduces what we take from the national grid, as well as larger scale generation to feed into the grid, contributing to the national grid decarbonisation.

Generating clean energy via the community energy model brings other valuable local benefits to our communities and we’ll explore those aspects in more detail.

We are updating our Local Plan (Partial Update) and Planning Policy on renewable energy is one of the themes covered in this update. The draft policies are being consulted on until 8th Oct so this is an opportunity to find out more about what those updates mean.
