Product recalls

A product recall is when an item or items must be returned to the manufacturer because there is a safety problem. Use this page to view current recalls and register appliances.

Manufacturers are responsible for making a product recall and alerting you if there is a safety concern with any goods they produce.

They are obliged to:

  • contact anyone who has purchased the faulty product, where possible
  • publish details of the recall and the risk the faulty product poses
  • detail what steps they are taking alongside the recall to resolve the issue

Although it is the manufacturer's responsibility to make you aware, you can keep up to date with current product recalls using the link below.

Registering your appliances

It is advisable to register newly-purchased appliances. This is so manufacturers can contact you and let you know of any potential safety concerns.

Registering your appliance is easy. It can be done directly with the manufacturer or by using the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances' 'Register my Appliance' service.

This service enables you to be automatically informed of product recalls or safety alerts about your product, and is supported by the Department for Business & Trade and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
