Renewable Energy Resource Assessment Study (RERAS)

Published: 2023-09-14 Updated: 2023-09-14 Subject: Planning Policy evidence base

Local Plan evidence base document

A renewable energy resource assessment study (RERAS) was completed in February 2022 as part of our Climate Emergency Action Plan.

The study assessed the technical potential for renewable, low and zero carbon energy technologies at different scales and in different locations.

This will inform the development of local planning policy through the Local Plan and other services where renewable energy resources need to be considered.

The RERAS is an assessment of the technical potential for renewable, low and zero carbon energy technologies at different scales and in different locations. The RERAS does not affect the planning status of any land which is assessed.

We also commissioned a Landscape Sensitivity Assessment Report on solar PV and wind energy to support the study.
