Adult social care market position statement

Published: 2020-05-06 Updated: 2020-05-06 Subject: Adult social care

Like all Councils in England, B&NES Council has a statutory duty under the Care Act (2014) to facilitate and oversee the local care market and ensure all residents can access good quality, sustainable care and support. A key part of this role is the development and publication of a Market Position Statement (or MPS), which sets out commissioners’ long term intentions in relation to the social care sector and explains how commissioners of social care services will collaborate with providers, developers and communities to manage the challenges facing social care while creating and capitalising on opportunities to meet the evolving care and support needs in our local area.
