Holiday Grants Programme

The purpose of the Holiday Grants programme is to provide access to recreational trips or holidays for groups of children who experience disadvantage or who have disabilities.  In particular, they are interested in contributing to trips that would not take place without their funding.

Please note they have changed their approach to assessing safeguarding, please read the funding guidelines carefully and check their Safeguarding webpage to make sure your trip is eligible.

One off grants of £500 to £2,750 are available to schools, youth groups, not for profit organisations and charities.

You can ask them to help towards a single trip, which could be a day trip or a longer residential of up to seven days in length but in the UK only.  This could be to a countryside or city location but ideally should be outside the children’s immediate locality.  They will consider trips which are more local but these should have an emphasis on providing a new experience for the children and broadening their horizons.  Examples include camping, trips to adventure activity centres or the seaside.

They prioritise applications that will benefit disadvantaged or disabled children living in the most deprived areas of the UK.  For Holiday Grants this means areas that fall within the bottom 20% according to the National Indices of Deprivation*.  They can be more flexible on levels of deprivation where disabled children are involved, but it will still be one factor in their assessment.

They cannot fund overseas trips or holidays, trips for children over the age of 13, trips that focus on education rather than fun, trips for families or for individual children, or the running costs of play or holiday schemes.

They have several application deadlines per year.  The one is Monday 22 July 2024.
