Keynsham Park Improvement Project survey

Why we'd like to hear from you

We're working with Keynsham Town Council to make improvements to Keynsham Memorial Park, Abbey Park and Chew Park, collectively known as Keynsham Park.

We have funds available to make initial improvements, but we also want to plan effectively for the future.

We want to hear your opinions to understand the main issues and investment priorities in these parks. Your responses to this survey will help us to build our improvement plan.

Planning for improvements to Keynsham Park

Keynsham Park is a community asset that is well used and much loved.

We hope to achieve a number of outcomes via this park improvement project, including:

  • Ensuring it meets the needs of a wide range of park users
  • Protecting and enhancing nature, as otters, kingfishers and Daubenton bats use the river corridor
  • Attracting more visitors to Keynsham, helping to stimulate the local economy
  • Increasing opportunities to improve health and wellbeing

While budgets to maintain the parks are tight, we understand that there are several issues that may be priorities for regular park users:

  • Play area equipment is nearing the end of its life
  • Replacement of the bridge near the bandstand is a priority
  • The river above the weir is filling with silt

We want to know which areas you think are priorities for investment, and whether there are any other issues that impact your ability to use or enjoy the park.

What happens next

Following this survey, we will analyse your responses to identify the main improvement priorities and any urgent issues we need to address.

Once we have we have your feedback, we will work with Keynsham Town Council to create an improvement plan that addresses the needs of park users.

We will then hold a second consultation later this year, which will allow you to comment on specific proposals.
