If you want to open a zoo, you must notify us at least two months before you submit a formal application.

Completing this notice form should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes of your time.

Get ready to apply

You must pay the notice fee before we can process your notice of intention.

You must also:

  • publish notice of your intention to operate a zoo in both a local and a national newspaper
  • display a notice in a prominent position at your premises for two months

Please keep a copy of the newspapers, as these must be attached to your formal application.

Supporting documents

As part of the application, you'll need to provide:

  • a site plan showing the proposed layout of the zoo

You can use any of these file formats for your uploads: jpg, jpeg, png, gif

We will process your application and will be in touch within 7 working days.
