Details

Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council have jointly produced a Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) to cover the period up until 2026.  The ROWIP is intended to set out an assessment of the current rights of way network and identify strategic steps which the Councils intend to take in partnership with various stakeholders to improve the network for the benefit of the public.  The ROWIP contains a particular emphasis on improving the way that the network is managed in the context of challenging public finances and addressing the challenges and opportunities which arise as a result of the continued high level of development within the three Council areas. A key aim is to increase use of the rights of way network, particularly amongst ethnic minorities and members of the public with disabilities.
