We’ve been working with communities in Keynsham & Saltford, the Somer Valley, Hicks Gate and Whitchurch Village for several months to understand what does and doesn’t work about our transport network.
Creating Sustainable Communities in North East Somerset: The Journey to Net Zero is our emerging travel strategy. It aims to provide more travel choices, investing in a transport network that meets current and future community needs. The strategy outlines short, medium and long-term improvements envisaged over the next 20 years. Significant investment and time will be required with the goal of creating better-connected, healthier, and genuinely sustainable communities through encouraging the use of sustainable modes of transport.
To respond to the high level of interest generated, we want to have a further conversation about how we can prioritise future investment to deliver travel choices to start to build the type of future we would like for our communities.
