The purpose of processing

To validate the eligibilty of the family to receive 2 year funding, EYPP or 30 hours extended childcare funding.

Members of families with children in the early years entitlement age range

Personal data

National Insurance Number
Address
Email address
Date of birth
"Special category data" (gender)

How is it used?

To check eligibility via the HMRC’s online system to confirm if the family is eligible for 2 year funding or early years pupil premium (EYPP)
To verify the family’s 30 hour extended childcare funding code on the HMRC’s online system

Profiling and automated decision making

Not applicable.

GDPR condition relied upon for processing personal data:

Article 6.1 c - legal obligation
The Childcare Act 2006 and 2016 and related guidance published by the Department for Education stating that Local Authorities have a duty to secure sufficient childcare.

Information is not shared outside of the team at the point of processing the requests.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

Personal data will only be retained for as long as it is needed for the purpose specified above, or as required by applicable law or regulatory requirements.
