The purpose of processing

The information below will help you to understand what we will do with the personal information that you provide when you make a complaint to us about an HMO.

Please take a moment to read this and if you have any questions raise them with the team using the address at the bottom.

We will process your personal data for the following purposes:

• If you provide your personal details to us and want to be updated about the complaint, we will be able to contact you.

Data Subjects are individuals who submit a complaint about an HMO and choose to provide their personal data alongside the complaint.

If you choose to provide your personal data, we will collect:
Your email address
Your phone number
Your home address, including postcode

How is it used?

We will use your personal data to contact you about your complaint and update you on the outcome.

Sharing of personal data with external recipients

We will not share your personal details with anyone outside of the Housing Standards and Improvements team, unless you make it clear that your contact details can be shared with landlords and/or management agents.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

Any records are saved on our internal system for 8 years.
