Rainbow Resource Scheme Privacy Notice

The purpose of processing

To enable the issuing of a Rainbow Resource scheme card to the parent/carer of eligible children and young people to enable them to use the card to access discounts on a range of attractions in the area.

Data subjects

Children and young people aged up to 25 with a Special Educational Need or disability (SEND) who are eligible and applying for a Rainbow Resource card

Personal data

Name
Address
Date of birth
Email address
Disability (the child/young person’s diagnosis or health, care or educational need)
"Special category data" (gender)

How is it used?

To issue a Rainbow Resource scheme card
To keep a register of children and young people (from birth to 25) who live in B&NES and have a disability or special educational need (Children Act 1989)

Profiling and automated decision making

The decision to authorise a Rainbow Resource card relies upon the applicant having a registered Disability or SEN, as specified on their application form and verified against the Council’s childcare system (Capita One/EYES).
You have the right to request that automated decision making be reviewed and replaced by non-automated means (i.e. decisions taken by one of our expert Council officers). To exercise this right please email data_protection@bathnes.gov.uk

To adhere to the statutory need to maintain a Disabled Children’s Register under the Children’s Act 1989.

Sharing of personal data with external recipients

This data is only accessible members of the P&C Communications team as they issue the cards. Upon request and with authorisation the information contained on the Disabled Children’s Register may be shared with relevant staff within Bath and North East Somerset Council.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

Until the child or young person reaches the age of 26 and is no longer eligible to hold a Rainbow Resource scheme card.
