Privacy Notice for Early Years Special Educational Needs and Disability Inclusion Team/Panel

The purpose of processing

To allocate funding / additional support to early years settings (nurseries, pre-schools, childminders etc) to support children aged 0-5 with special educational needs and disabilities to access their statutory early years entitlement (EYE).

Data subjects

Children aged 0-5 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Personal data

This includes: Childs name, date of birth, address, gender, ethnicity, primary need, pictures, NHS number, GP name, parent names, religion / other belief, family and child characteristics (lone parent, domestic abuse etc) and specialist reports (speech and language, pediatrician, occupational therapy etc).

How is it used?

To allocate inclusion funding and additional support to early years settings (nurseries, pre-schools, childminders etc) to support children aged 0-5 with special educational needs and disabilities.

It is also used to plan future provision, budgets, training, writing contracts for children in receipt of funding and considering requests at allocation meetings/panels to ensure we identify children’s needs at the earliest opportunity.

Information is shared with relevant professionals such as local Children’s Centres and Health Services in order to provide a comprehensive service to children and families.

Information will not be shared with any other third party without consent or as required
by law.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

Personal data will only be retained for as long as it is needed for the purpose specified above, or as required by applicable law or regulatory requirements.
