Privacy Notice - Bike Hangar Consultation

The purpose of processing

The information below will help you to understand what we will do with the personal information that you provide as part of the consultation process.

Please take a moment to read this and if you have any questions raise them with the team at Bathnes using the address at the bottom.

We would like people to suggest locations for bike hangars in Bath and North East Somerset, together with information about the proposed location. This will enable us to prioritise locations for funding using a scoring matrix, with the aim of installing 20 bike hangars.

We will use the data on sites that are not selected for this phase of the bike hangar project to inform demand for further phases.

Personal data

We may ask you for details that include:
Full name
Contact email address
Home address, including your full postcode
Information regarding your living arrangements; Whether you own your home, rent from the private sector, or live in social housing
Information about how many bikes there are in your household
Information about how many times per week you use your bike
Information about where you usually park your bike over night
Information about whether you have a disability
Information about whether you use your bike for carrying children

How is it used?

We will use the data to help prioritise proposed bike hangar locations for funding using a scoring matrix. We will use the data on sites that are not selected for this phase of the bike hangar project to inform demand for further phases.

Any personal data that has been submitted will be received by the team running this consultation, who may engage directly with you to explore your comments, concerns or queries. We may also pass results to a professional third party who we have contracted to assist with the analysis of the data, to determine needs assessment and assist in project planning. Any data shared outside the Council will be used for the purposes of understanding and analysing this proposed project only.

The information may be shared with other services within the Council, who may carry out actions to support you in dealing with the proposed changes, this may include such services that the Council provides, including; highways services, financial support services, community wellbeing or legal services.

If you are raising a specific point that and the team considers it requires further investigation that may or may not be related to the consultation, such as a complaint or security matter, then it will be transferred to the relevant department for further investigation.

Sharing of personal data with external recipients

We may share the data with our consultant AECOM to assist us with processing the data.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

We will keep your personal information for up to one year should a bike hangar be installed in your area following the results of this consultation. If a bike hangar is not installed, we will retain your personal information for up to three years to inform demand for any future bike hangar installations.
