Plastic free B&NES Privacy Notice

The purpose of processing

1. ‘Plastic Free Bath and North East Somerset’ run by the council, includes the aim of achieving 'Plastic Free Communities' status – a nationwide campaign by Surfers Against Sewage. The council is acting as ‘Local Community Leader’ in the 'Plastic Free Communities' framework. This role involves the council engaging with businesses and community organisations and once a business or community group has provided appropriate evidence of their pledge and subsequent actions, to the ‘Local Community Leader’, they become ‘Plastic Free Champions’. The council will apply for 'Plastic Free Communities' status once the five objectives have been met; one objective is to have a requisite number of 'Plastic Free Champions'.

2. Case studies of organisations who have achieved 'Plastic Free Champion' status will be written by the council to promote 'Plastic Free Champions', to inspire action by others.

3. The council will be in contact with organisations throughout the campaign to map progress and offer support.
