External Learning Management System Privacy Notice

The purpose of processing

As part of the provision of training resources, B&NES Council collects and processes personal data relating to course participants. We are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use that data and meeting our data protection obligations.

It is important that you read this statement so that you know how and why we use information about you. We may update this statement at any time.

Please take a moment to read this and if you have any questions raise them with the team at Bathnes using the address at the bottom.

Please note that if this training is being provided by B&NES Council under contract to another organisation, B&NES is a Data Processor, not the Controller, and as such all data protection queries should be addressed to the Controller where possible.

Your data will be processed to allow B&NES Council to provide you with access to our online Learning Management System as part of your organisational training

Data subjects

Data subjects are current and former training course participants.

Personal data

We will collect;
Username
Forename
Surname
Job title
Email address, which may be your personal email if you choose to provide it to us
Organisation/employer

How is it used?

We collect and process personal data to manage the provision of training requirements.

We will use your information to create an account on our LMS, to track information associated with this account such as your record of training completion, and undertake any other relevant training-related activities.

Profiling and automated decision making

Sharing of personal data with external recipients

Relevant training information will be shared between your employer and your training provider (B&NES Council), and with third parties where required by legislation.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

We will retain the information as per the instructions of your employer, which will be for the duration of your employment and up to 7 years after the deactivation of your account. Account deactivation will occur should an account not be used for a period of 6 months.

In some circumstances, information may be removed sooner at the instructions of your employer.

If you are unhappy about the way we have treated your personal data, or feel we have not properly respected your data subject rights, you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and tell them about this.
