How is it used?

To prove a tenant is who they claim to be and that they have the funds to pay rent on one of our properties

Article 6.1 b - Necessary to performance of a contract
Article 6.1 f - Legitimate interests
For successful tenant applications, Article 6.1.b Contractual interests will also apply. We comply with the provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and subsequent revisions.

Sharing of personal data with external recipients

Results of financial assessments are shared with providers who deliver services under contract on the Council’s behalf. Personal data is routinely shared with the Council’s Legal Services team as an essential part of setting up the contractual agreement with the tenant.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

Personal data will only be retained for as long as it is needed for the purpose specified above, or as required by applicable law or regulatory requirements.
