Equality, Diversity, & Inclusion: Heritage Team Staff Survey

The purpose of processing

The purpose of this survey is to understand how Heritage Services are performing with regards to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). You have been asked to complete the survey because you are a member of Heritage Services. It should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

The data will be used to inform decisions about what actions need to be taken to improve ED&I within Heritage Services.

Data subjects

Employees of Bath and Northeast Somerset Council, who work for Heritage Services.

Personal data

The survey does not collect any unique personal identifiers (name, date of birth, staff number, NI number, email address etc), however the Council has taken the decision to provide this privacy notice as a very limited number of responses may be identifiable to individuals processing the data prior to final reports being produced.

The survey is intended to be anonymous and for this reason, any personal information given in open ended answers which identifies individuals or others will be anonymised. However, if you would like to leave personal information or lived experiences to be used openly for discussions, then please feel free to do so, although any identifiable information will be anonymised when extracting the data to send to a third party for analysis.

Any information that you provide which may be identifiable will be held in confidence by the business intelligence team at Heritage Services. The business intelligence team will comprise of the named individuals, Lizzie Marshall and Charlotte Somers who work within Heritage Services.

How is it used?

The data will be used to inform Heritage Services decisions about what actions need to be taken to improve Equality, Diversity & Inclusion across the organisation. It is intended to be a snapshot of current lived experiences across the organisation with the findings used to inform training and other initiatives to improve company culture and processes.

Sharing of personal data with external recipients

Fully anonymised data, with any identifiable data suppressed, will be shared with a third party called Inclusive Recruiting. Inclusive Recruiting exist to eradicate inequality and inequity from workplaces and are dedicated to transforming mindsets and behaviours and braking barriers, to create belonging and truly equitable workplaces for organisations and the people powering them.

They will analyse the data and use the findings to inform a training session with the Heritage Services Senior Leadership Team in Spring 2024.

Final, suppressed, results will be shared with the staff team.

How long is the personal data retained by the Council?

Once the final, suppressed, results are shared with the staff team, the survey data will be permanently deleted off the SurveyMonkey system. This will take no longer than 12 months.
