The purpose of processing
Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) Council and the Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU), that is composed of parts of the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and Department of Transport (DfT), and are acting as Joint Controllers to ensure that people who are likely to be affected by the introduction of Clean Air Zones have sufficient warning of it coming into place. Therefore, we have instructed the Driving and Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA), as Processors, to notify vehicle keepers of this ahead of the launch of the B&NES Clean Air Zone.

We will use your VRM and registration details held by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), which include your name and address.
How is it used?
VRMs captured in Bath by the ANPR system will be passed to the Joint Air Quality Unit of Defra, they will determine whether or not your vehicle would be subject to enforcement action using data provided by the DVLA and the DVLA will send you an ENL.

The monitoring and identification of contraventions of Part III and Schedule 12 of the Transport Act 2000 and Parts 2 and 6 of The Road User Charging Schemes (Penalty Charges, Adjudication and Enforcement)(England) Regulations 2013 pertaining to Bath's Clean Air Zone Charging Order.
