What Area Forums do

Our Area Forum programme aims to bring community organisations and public services together, and to provide opportunities for people to discuss issues that affect their local area.

Area Forums are an opportunity for stakeholders from community organisations and public services to identify and address areas of concern. The Police and Fire Service regularly attend to give updates and take questions, community groups can share news and information and there are speakers on topics of local interest.

The key principles of the 'Connecting Communities' program
Working with partners, parishes and councillors we have established five area forums as part of our 'Connecting Communities' program. Our approach is built around five key principles:
  • listen
  • prioritise
  • join-up
  • work with you
  • share ideas
