Coronavirus (COVID-19) latest information and advice

Book a COVID-19 rapid test

Book a free COVID-19 rapid test (also known as lateral flow test) at our community test site on New Bond Street, Bath.

Around one in three people with COVID-19 don't have symptoms, so rapid testing will help us find cases of the virus and get people to isolate so we can break the chains of transmission, and reduce the spread of the virus in our area.

Everyone is encouraged to get into the habit of testing twice a week, three to five days apart.

What to do if you have COVID-19 symptoms

Anyone with one or more of the following symptoms should take a different test called a PCR test. Book a test on GOV.UK or call 119.

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to sense of smell or taste.

119 provides support in 200 languages. InterpreterNow is a free online British Sign Language interpreter service for 119.

Who can have a test

Rapid testing is for everyone. If you are over the age of 16 and you live or work or are visiting Bath and North East Somerset, book a test using our online form below.

Regular twice weekly testing is particularly important for essential or critical workers, including people who are responsible for keeping essential services going, such as:

  • Health and social care workers (not covered by national or employer led testing programmes)
  • Personal assistants or carers
  • Emergency services staff
  • Funeral or crematorium staff

  • Other customer facing local authority staff unable to work from home
