Coronavirus (COVID-19) latest information and advice

Tourists and visitors

So many of the businesses in our region depend on the income that tourism brings to the city of Bath and its surrounding areas, and the council is no different.

Roman Baths

Face coverings are now required in The Roman Baths museum indoor areas and the shop, unless you have a special exemption. Masks are optional in the open outdoor areas such as The Great Bath and the Terrace

Our Heritage team has been working hard to be able to reopen the Roman Baths in a manner that allows for social distancing. Face coverings are required in The Roman Baths museum indoor areas and the shop, unless you have a special exemption, in line with the latest government guidance on face coverings. Face coverings are optional in the open outdoor areas such as The Great Bath and the Terrace. Visitor numbers have been reduced, so people can maintain physical distancing throughout the site on a new one-way route, and there will be plenty of hand sanitisation stations available.

More details, including an offer for residents through the Discovery Card, can be found on the Roman Baths website.

The Fashion Museum is scheduled to reopen at Easter in 2021. Although the site itself won't be open, we will be delivering a number of interactive exhibitions and online resources across our digital platforms. You can also keep up the date with the museum online via our social media:
