Street and road improvements

As towns and cities across the UK gradually reopen, temporary measures to widen pavements, remove traffic from roads and improve cycling are being introduced in parts of Bath, using Emergency Traffic Regulation Orders (ETROs).

The measures are in response to a government directive, and place an emphasis on active travel, which is also at the core of the council’s long-term vision to address the Climate Emergency and create a connected city, fit for the future.

Residents have also been asked to put forward locations for longer-term improvements, designed to reduce the use of vehicles on our roads, and encourage more walking and cycling. We encourage you to share your views, via the Liveable Neighbourhoods website
