We are working hard to keep our rubbish and recycling services running, thanks to the commitment and dedication of our crews and staff. These services are being prioritised, but there may be some delays or missed collections.
Personal waste and COVID-19
Disposable cleaning clothes, tissues, nappies or any other personal waste should always be put in your rubbish bin. If members of your household have the symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19), personal waste like this should be double bagged, tied securely and kept separate from other waste for at least 72 hours before being put in your black wheelie bin or re-usable rubbish bag. Never put any personal waste in recycling boxes, as we won’t collect it.
We had to suspend fortnightly garden waste collections during some of March and April, in order to maintain our main rubbish and recycling collections. We extended the annual subscription period for garden waste bins, to make up for the missed collections. However, you will now need to renew your subscription to avoid any interruption in your collections. We will do our best to maintain a full service, but please check our collection issues updates, if there are any problems with your usual collections.
All of our recycling centres are open to Bath and North East Somerset residents ONLY. Please ensure that you have identification which clearly shows your name and address, as staff may ask to see it.
You will find that there are additional restrictions in place at every centre, as follows:
- There is currently no pedestrian access at any of the centres
- Staff are not able to help with lifting or moving items of waste, due to social distancing regulations
- We cannot accept items which can normally be put into kerbside recycling collections
Please see the website page for your local recycling centre to read the regulations in full. We regret that our staff will have to turn you away, if you don't follow the appropriate restrictions for your local site.
Keynsham recycling centre is now open, but we are using a car number plate system to limit the number of visitors and protect public health. Find out more about Keynsham recycling centre restrictions.
