Coronavirus (COVID-19) latest information and advice

Latest residents’ letter from Leader and Chief Executive

28 October 2020

Dear resident

Cases are rising locally and there is a clear danger of local lockdown unless we act. At the time of writing, Bath & North East Somerset is on medium alert level but there is a real chance we will be subject to higher level restrictions unless we:

  • Follow all the rules, including on hand-washing, face coverings, social distancing, and gatherings. Remember - Hands, Face, Space.
  • If we have symptoms, self-isolate and book a test online or by calling 119
  • Follow instructions from Test and Trace

To control the virus, we need to get information out quickly. If you have internet access, please sign up to our e-newsletter and social media using our checklist overleaf. There is also other information for you to keep, including how to get help if you are self-isolating.

Along with COVID-19, Flu can also lead to serious health complications and even death. This year, it's more important than ever that you have a free NHS vaccination if you are eligible. Getting vaccinated not only protects you but also those around you. Check the NHS website or speak to your doctor or pharmacist to see whether you are eligible, and to book a vaccination.

If you need any of this information in a format different to the ones listed on this page, or in another language, let us know on 01225 39 40 41 or email council_connect@bathnes.gov.uk

Please pass information on to others who may need help and support, or do not have digital access.

Yours sincerely,

Cllr Dine Romero
Leader
Bath & North East Somerset Council

Will Godfrey
Chief Executive
